Description

With Luyi Hall hallmark

Decorated entirely in gilt with a beautiful basket of flowers; the rim with mythical animals in outdoor settings. The underfoot bears a three character Palace hallmark in underglaze blue for Luyi Hall 菉漪堂 (also written 菉猗堂 ), located in Nanmen Village, Doumen Town, Zhuhai.

Note: Luyi Hall (also known as the Zhao Family Ancestral Hall) was built in 1454 (during the Ming Dynasty) by Zhao Long, a fifteenth-generation descendant of Zhao Kuangmei, who was the Prince of Wei and the younger brother of the Song Emperor Taizu, Zhao Kuangyin.
