Japanese Imari Porcelain Charger

Edo period, ca: 1690-1720

Description

Decorated in the center with a pair of hawks and a pheasant; the flanged rim with reserves of Mandarin ducks, Cranes, and songbirds in flowering branches. All surperbly painted in bright enamels and gilding.
Diameter: 18 ½ inches (47 cm.)
