Fine Pair of Chinese Red Ground Famille Verte Porcelain Plates

Kangxi period, AD 1662-1722

Description

Of broad saucer form, decorated with flower petal form reserves decorated with court ladies and birds amidst flowering plants, all set against a deep rouge de fer ground.  A very rare type and also fortuitous to have as a pair. 
Diameter: 15 inches (38 cm.)
A virtually idenitcal pair from the Salting Collection are in in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.  Another pair was in the Gubbay Collection, Clandon House, Surrey
