Fine Famille Verte Porcelain Garlic-Neck Vase

Kangxi period


Of fine narrow pear shape with bulb above the mid-section of the neck.  Based upon a Ming dynasty form.  Finely decorated with flowering plants and rockery.  Of rare type.
An almost identical example was in the Leonard Gow Collection, Glasgow (illustrated and described by Hobson, Plate V, No. 140).
Height: 17 5/8 inches (44.8 cm.)
