Of fine small deep form with expanding sides. Decorated with a continuous flower and tendril along the exterior. The interior with a central reserve of additional flowers and leaves. All finely painted in a variety of tones and soft washes. The underfoot with an apocryphal Chenghua (Ming) mark within double rings.

Note: The beautiful bowl is based directly upon Imperial palace bowls of various sizes from the Chenghua period (1464-1487). The style of painting is faithful to this honored and beloved period that was considered to be a high point in blue and white decoration.
