Ex: Private American Collection
From the Vung Tau wreck found off the coast of Vietnam and sold in 1992 in Amsterdam. Porcelains from this wreck were on their way to Batavia, and from there would have been traded to Europe, particularly Holland. The quantities salvaged were impressive and included many decorated types rarely and in some cases not recorded prior. The quality of many of these porcelains like this vase and cover are impressive.
Note on this vase, the fine painting of the flowers and contrasting shadow effect around them. It is very pleasing and beautiful.
