Boldly decorated with a seated Qilin in an outdoor setting. The animal, breathing fire and with animated expression. Qilin were auspicious mythical beasts with composite features of horns, hooves, and bushy tail. They appeared at times of good government and prosperity (an intended symbolism of this period as the new Qing dynasty that was at its start).
