Pair of Chinese Famille Verte and Rouge de Fer Porcelain Baluster Vases

Kangxi period, AD 1662-1722


Decorated two large rectangular reserves; one filled with flowers, rockery, and butterfly;  the other, with an assortment of the Precious Antiques.  
Height: 10 ½ and 10 ¾ inches (26.7 and 27.3 cm)
An almost identical pair from the Leonard Gow Collection (Hobson, 1931, Pl. XXXVI, No. 140).
Additional examples from the historic collection of Augustus the Strong (1670-1733) are in the Zwinger Museum, Dresden.
